Victor’s Kitchen (Famous Dim Sum Place) Review
I don’t usually plan dim sum runs around Chinatown Point, but a very specific craving hit: molten custard, bouncy prawns, silky cheong fun, and that unmistakable Hong Kong milk tea. Enter Victor’s Kitchen—a name that’s been floating around Singapore’s dim sum circles for years for its no-frills, old-school Hong Kong-ness. It is located at both Sunshine Plaza and Chinatown point.
This visit wasn’t just about nostalgia though. I wanted to see if the food still justifies my cravings.
Here’s everything I ate and my honest recommendations.

Golden Egg Yolk Lava Bun (Liu Sha Bao) and Poached Sichuan Dumplings
Golden Egg Yolk Lava Bun – 4.5 / 5.0
Rich, salty-sweet custard with legit lava flow. Bun is pillowy and chewy. Highly recommended!
Poached Sichuan Dumplings – 4.0 / 5
Juicy meat, soft wrappers, and bold spicy-numbing sauce. Classic choice for those who love the spicy Sichuan dumplings!

King Prawn Dumplings (Har Gao) and Duck & Preserved Veg Roll
King Prawn Dumplings (Har Gao) – 4.3 / 5
Thick skin, springy prawn filling, no filler mush. Clean, natural sweetness. Highly recommended!
Duck & Preserved Veg Roll – 3.5 / 5
Savoury, tangy from the veg. Could use more duck punch.
Polo Bun, Egg Tarts and Hong Kong Signature Iced Milk Tea and Iced Ying Yang drinks
Egg Tarts – 3.9 / 5
Soft and warm custard, tender (not flaky) crust. Not overly sweet. Freshly made from the kitchen! Highly recommended!
Polo Bun with Char Siew – 3.9 / 5
Crusty and meaty filling. Freshly made from the kitchen! Highly recommended!
HK Iced Milk Tea – 3.5 / 5
Full-bodied, condensed milk-heavy. Classic HK style. Signature drink that put your drink in a bowl of ice cubes to preserve the cold while preventing it from diluting. It’s not too sweet, just nice for us!
HK Iced Ying Yang – 3.5 / 5
Coffee-tea hybrid, strong and bitter-milky. Recommended for those who want a change from the original milk tea!
Yangzhou Fried Rice – 3.4 / 5
Wok hei, fluffy egg, juicy prawns. Comfort classic. But as fragrant as we thought. We would think that the Century Egg Congee would be a better choice next time.
Yangzhou Fried Rice
💡 Pro Tip: Drizzle the spicy garlic sauce from the Poached Sichuan Dumplings over the rice—it adds heat, umami, and transforms the dish into a wok-tossed flavour bomb.
Salt & Pepper Beancurd Skin – 4.2 / 5
Crispy, salty, addictive. Great for texture lovers. Highly recommended! We can’t stop eating it!
Crispy Shrimp Rolls – 3.8 / 5
Crispy outside, springy shrimp inside. Light but fried. A must-order for sharing!
Crispy Shrimp Roll
Pan-Fried Cheong Fun – 3.5 / 5
Hot and soft texture. We ordered the one without fillings, but its original taste is great too!\
Mango Sago Dessert– 3.8 / 5
Smooth texture with mango bits inside. Definitely worth trying!

⚙️ Service & Speed
Quick, efficient, and to-the-point. The staff at the Chinatown Point outlet were very prompt and kind to your requests. We definitely had a great time there for our brunch!
Note: Lunch crowds coming really fast around 11.50am, with some queues lining outside the restaurant. Do come earlier or be prepared to have a short waiting time during the weekends lunch hour.
