Starter – Salmon Popcorn
We kicked things off with their Salmon Popcorn – a refreshing take on the usual sashimi or grilled salmon. Lightly battered and deep-fried to crispy perfection, the salmon still retained its soft, buttery texture inside. A fun, addictive starter that sets the tone for what’s to come.

Pastry – Pistachio Croissant
This one was a showstopper. Their Pistachio Croissant was everything a croissant should be – buttery, flaky, and golden. It wasn’t overly sweet (a big plus in my books), and the pistachio filling was rich and creamy.
The sauce is tucked inside the croissant and oozes out when cut – a satisfying surprise. That said, I personally would’ve preferred the sauce to be served outside or on the plate instead, so I could enjoy more of it with each bite.

Mains – Fish & Chips + Soft Shell Crab Carbonara
I went for the World Championship Fish & Chips. While the name sets high expectations and the fish was definitely fresh with a nice crispy batter, the overall taste was honestly quite standard. It didn’t quite wow me, but it was still a decent, comforting plate if you’re craving a classic.
We also had the Soft Shell Crab Carbonara, which was an indulgent twist on a pasta classic. The cream sauce was rich but not overly heavy, and the crispy soft shell crab on top added texture and depth. Beautifully plated too!

Drinks – Pistachio Latte & Biscoff Buttercream Latte
Visually stunning and full of personality, the drinks were a treat on their own. The Pistachio Latte had layers of nutty goodness, topped with foam and crushed pistachio around the rim. The Biscoff Buttercream Latte was indulgent, sweet, and came with a cookie on top – almost like dessert in a cup.

Final Thoughts
Nimmies delivers on both flavour and aesthetics. From creative lattes to elevated café classics and signature pastries, it’s a lovely spot to indulge without going overboard on sweetness. Definitely coming back for another round of that pistachio croissant – the rich filling and flaky layers were just right.
